Dr Felicity Plaat is the Lead Clinician & Consultant Anaesthetist at Queen Charlotte’s and The Hammersmith Hospitals, and Honorary Senior lecturer at the Imperial College School of Medicine, London.

Dr Plaat is also the Honorary Secretary Elect, Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association (May 2005), a Member of the Medical Advisory Committee of the charity Baby Lifeline (Jan 2005), Consultant to Tele-medicine Swinfen Charitable Trust and Treasurer of the Group of Obstetric Anaesthetists in London

Dr Plaat has special interests in:
Anaesthesia for Endocrine Surgery, Obstetric Anaesthesia and Analgesia:
- The high risk obstetric patient.
- Management of regional anaesthesia for routine & emergency surgery
- Mobile regional analgesia for labour
Anaesthesia for Gynaecological surgery
Consent for anaesthesia.

Dr Plaat has been an invited lecturer to organisations including The Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association, The European Society of Anesthesiology, The Institute of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Imperial College School of Medicine and RCOG. I have also lectured in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe. College Tutor, Dept of Anaesthesia, Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, 1997-2001. Lecturer & instructor: Managing Obstetric Emergencies & Trauma Course, Neonatal Resuscitation Course, Advanced Life Support, Generic Instructors’ national courses.

Dr Plaat has contributed articles, case reports etc to peer reviewed journals including Anaesthesia, The International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia, British Journal of Anaesthesia, The Lancet, Anesthesiology, Anesthesia & Intensive Care, British Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
