Angiography

This is where radiologists carefully inject a harmless dye into the arteries feeding the endocrine gland of interest. An X-ray is then taken which shows up the dye in the arteries. This allows the surgeon to look at the blood supply to the organ, it is useful in both the diagnosis of some tumours and the careful planning of surgery.
