How are Ovulatory disorders investigated?

The first part of the investigation is to find out whether the problem is amenorrhoea (total absence of menstruation) or oligomenorrhoea (irregular cycles).

In the initial consultation it is important to find out about:

  • Changes in weight
  • Any milk production from the nipple (galactorrhoea)
  • Excess body and facial hair
  • Stress
  • Exercise
  • Dieting
