Is there any special anaesthetic management for patients with Adrenal Insufficiency?

It is essential to replace the fluids, electrolytes and glucocorticoid deficiencies before anaesthesia. During anaesthesia it is important to monitor the following:

  • Arterial Pressure
  • Urine Production
  • ECG
  • Serum Electrolytes

It is important to administer glucocorticoids to surgical patients at risk of adrenal insufficiency.
