What types of Anaesthesia are there?

There are four main types of anaesthetic:

1) General - this is where the whole body and brain are anaesthetised.

2) Regional - this is where a section of the body is anaesthetised.

3) Local - this is where a small area (where injected) is anaesthetised.

4) Sedation - this is used for minor procedures where the patient is awake but is drowsy and pain free.
